Reflection on the learning and competencies:
Through this activity, I have learned to carry out a search for relevant academic information and
to use the different resources available in the UOC library to carry out a bibliographic review of
a thesis or research project. I have also learned about the different databases, electronic
journals, and specialized databases available for each of the thematic areas of the UOC’s
doctoral programs.
In terms of basic competencies, this activity has helped me to systematically understand the
field of study and master the related search skills and methods. I have learned to critically
analyze, evaluate and choose scientific studies.
This activity has also helped me develop personal skills and abilities, such as operating in
contexts where there is little specific information and identifying the key questions that need to
be answered to solve a complex problem.

In conclusion, this activity has been beneficial for developing my skills in research and critical
analysis, and I feel more confident in my ability to conduct a literature review for a thesis or
research project.
